In winter, many institutions in the southern hemisphere offer a long break between the two semesters, often several weeks during the the months December and February. Together with the currently rising amount of mobile students worldwide, there can also be seen a rising demand as also offer of short-term study programs worldwide during this period.

This section therefore shall enhance knowledge and information about suitable short-term study opportunities during that time of the year. Interested students and persons can find available programs below, and can refine the search results by using filter.

Iberoamericana University Mexico City

A visiting semester at the Ibero - a unique experience! Come and spend one or two semesters together with other international students in Mexico City. Studying outside one’s home country and university offers great opportunities for academic, intercultural, and personal growth. The Ibero is located in is located in Mexico City's western zone of Santa Fe, a key business district for national and international enterprises and one of the major poles of investment in Latin America. Close to Mexico's largest shopping mall (Centro Comercial Santa Fe), the university is surrounded by modern and ambitious architecture, skyscrapers and enterprises, without losing its comfortable and unhurried character. With 35 undergraduate und 31 postgraduate programs, the Ibero offers a wide range of education at the highest academic level. Recognized experts guarantee an integrated formation which goes beyond mere acquisition of information or knowledge, and at the same time promote the personal development of the students. The Universidad Iberoamericana has laboratories and workshops with state-of-the-art equipment in the areas of architecture, communications, computer, design, engineering, chemistry, nutrition, photography, physics, and psychology. The Universidad Iberoamericana has over 11,000 students, including around 800 graduate students. There are approximately 2,000 faculty members which ensure that students benefit from personal attention. The main language of instruction is Spanish. Students who are still in the process of acquiring basic Spanish proficiency have the option to participate in our Spanish Language and Latin American Culture Program or to take English taught courses in International Business or International Relations. The Francisco Xavier Clavigero Library is an integral part of campus life. The library contains over 300,000 volumes, a rare and antique book collection, and subscribes to 1,500 journals, magazines, and newspaper publications. The library holds Porfirio Diaz’s personal correspondence which is used regularly by both national and international researchers. San Ignacio de LoyolaIf your home university is a partner institution of the Universidad Iberoamericana, you can directly apply via your home institution. If there currently doesn't exist a formal exchange program, please feel free to apply as an independent study abroad student. You will have the same status as exchange students, with free access to all the installations of the university, like the sport facilities, and you easily can transfer your credits back to your home institution.

Working in small groups you will develop a screenplay, shooting script and storyboard for a short fiction film, taking part in pre-production tasks such as casting, and developing a narrative, before beginning the live film shoot and post-production sessions.
